Prayer of Confession

Lord God, we confess that we fall for playing at Christianity  as if it were a hobby, rather than our passion. Holiness belongs to others; it is not our ambition. Forgive us, Lord, for not accepting the gospel challenge and settling  for mediocrity in what matters most. By your grace and in your Spirit, help us to make every effort to live out our salvation with fear and trembling, humility and love. To God be the glory. Amen.
